Description
There’s a certain theater to finishing a meal with a steaming Irish coffee poured into luminous crystal. Waterford’s Lismore mugs were created for just that moment.
Cut by hand from brilliant lead crystal, each 6.5″ mug balances a bell-shaped bowl on a sculpted stem and star-cut foot, with an easy sweep handle that stays cool while the drink warms your hands. The Lismore pattern — introduced in 1952 by designer Miroslav Havel — draws its diamond-and-wedge cuts from the turrets of Lismore Castle, giving these pieces a quiet link to Ireland’s storied glassmaking.
Large enough for Irish coffee, hot toddies, mulled cider, or a generous pour of cocoa, they also work as petite dessert vessels for custards or trifles. Their scale, clarity, and fine cutting make them an uncommon find: most handled mugs you see are the smaller liqueur size. This pair retains the reassuring weight and clarity of early-period Waterford, a testament to Ireland’s enduring craft.
