Description
This Seth Thomas electric Westminster-chime mantel clock brings a working timepiece and a recognizable Seth Thomas form to a mantel, study, or clock collection. Its curved wood-toned case supports a round dial with gold-tone Arabic numerals, a hinged bezel, and a broad stepped base.
The clock is identified by the Seth Thomas name on the dial and rear plate. The rear plate indicates a 115-volt, 60-cycle electric movement and appears to identify movement no. 1703 and catalog no. 3441. The attached directions label identifies a self-starting electric Westminster-chime clock with a No. 1700-type movement.
Testing shows that it powers on, keeps time, and chimes. The clock measures approximately 20 inches by 5 inches as supplied. Its substantial curved case gives a mantel or clock display a defined central timepiece without requiring a separate movement or chime installation.
Included with the sale are the clock, its attached power cord, and the directions label inside the rear door. Please review all photographs for the case, dial, rear markings, movement, cord, and surface condition.
Very good working condition. Powers on, keeps time, and chimes. Light scratches and finish wear are present, particularly on the rear and base.
